Role overview

Willow Park Lodge is looking for an experienced Health Care Assistant who has worked with elderly people some of which will be living with advanced stages of dementia. Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 2 we are seeking an individual with a proven background in this field. As a new, purpose-built care home, this will be an excellent opportunity for an individual to experience state of the art care home facilities with a leading provider.


Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not exclusive to:

  • Assisting residents with bathing, washing, shaving and oral hygiene, toilet and continence requirements
  • Communicate effectively with residents, their relatives and friends using persuasion, reassurance, tact and empathy
  • Moving and handling residents safely
  • Assisting with eating and drinking
  • Handling personal possessions
  • Maintaining the orderliness, hygiene and safety of the home
  • Updating resident records, recording observations etc
  • Sensitive and responsive to the race, culture, religion, age, disability, gender and sexuality of the person receiving care, their relatives and representatives
  • Understands and follows the home's policy for reporting concerns, responding to incidents, seeking guidance and complaints handling
  • Complies at all times with Health and Safety regulations and takes responsibility for health and safety of self and others at all times

Senior Health Care Assistant

Role overview

Willow Park Lodge are looking for an experienced Senior Health Care Assistant who has worked with elderly people some of which will be living with advanced stages of dementia. Ideally qualified to NVQ Level 3 we are seeking an individual with a proven background in this field. As a new, purpose-built care home, this will be an excellent opportunity for an individual to experience state of the art care home facilities with a leading provider.


Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to run their floor of residents ensuring they are kept safe at all times. You will be working with and leading a team of healthcare assistants allocated to your floor. You will be responsible for organising  their duties for the night shift and allocating this resource effectively and safely throughout your shift. You will be in charge of administering medication to the residents on your floor whilst ensuring documentation is maintained and updated whilst acting as the first port of call for resident updates and liaisons with external professionals when required.

There will be other seniors or medication champions working within the Lodge which acts as additional team support to you when required.
